Create a Drawing Machine Cont.

Here's a continuation of our drawing machine.
During the week our group met up in uni and all decided that due to constraints we should make a sightly more simple drawing machine. Therefore, these images are our final drawing machine.
We needed:
  • 8 Lemonade Bottles
  • Various amount of food coloring
  • Duck Tape
  • String/Rope
  • 2 Hoops

A lemonade bottle and a range of food coloring so we could see various outcomes.

Firstly, we tried 2 colors in red and green as you can see.

What we had done was we had mixed the coloring with the lemonade and pierced a hole on the side, this allows the liquid to flow out. However, due to the fact that this is lemonade and not water, the liquid flows out straight because of the gases within fizzy drinks, on the other hand, with water the liquid would stay within the bottle and not leak.

This was another experiment with a color that you can see more better. (Sorry about the way I recorded this)

A range of coloured substances.

The beginning of our drawing machine.

The group starting to tie and add support (duck tape).

Here is a close up of the added support.

This is what is attached to the bottles from the wood. (Below)

This is how our drawing machine functioned.

Create a Drawing Machine

The duration of this project is 2 weeks. The brief of this project is to produce a working drawing machine, this means it has to portray markings using any media. Well this started by getting put into a group of 8, the group i'm in is called Group K8ight. We called it this because we simply was in group K and there were 8 of us so we decided to merge the two.
Once we got put into our groups we introduced ourselves, obtained each others contact details and brought in our ideas of what we think is an effective drawing machine. We all agreed to split up and thought of more ideas and come back before mid day to present what we came up with. There was obviously a lot of competition because a majority of the groups had good ideas, once the presentations were done we had to come up with a prototype of our main idea and possibly a logo of our group name.
Moreover, everybody came back into class and again presented their prototypes and any necessary factors that needed to be considered. Our idea was good yet complicated, so time was in our hands to get this completed.

This is a prototype of out group logo.

This was a sketch one boy done in our group of an idea he came up with.

During our time with our group, we made out prototype of the drawing machine that we all agreed to create. (Logo on the top right)

Pay to Play

Within this project we had to create an original piece of artwork using a £1 coin. Therefore, anything that you feel is a great piece of art from your thoughts is valid.
What I made was an image using Adobe Photoshop CS to portray a watch merged with the £1 coin. This resembles the saying, 'Time is Money'. The definition behind this is that there is no time to waste in whatever you do, time is valuable so treat time like money. In addition, time is irreplaceable.

About Me Booklet

The brief for this project was to design an A5 Booklet about yourself. There were sections in which we had to consider such as the front page HAD to include a picture, URL blog and obviously your name. It had to be creative so it shows how creative you are and also to show your skills whether that being drawing, computer designing or crafting just to name a few.

Within the booklet you could put anything you wanted like a mini biography. I had put in an about me page first to introduce who I am and so on. Next I added my hobbies, then my ambitions, my friends, a page to introduce part of my friends whom are looking to do tattooing and finally an image I had done recently.

I had done my booklet using Adobe Photoshop CS putting all my ideas into account that I feel working on the computer is a strong point for myself.

This is what I came up with...
